41 Years Later

41 years ago, it was a stormy summer day and two twenty something year olds, got married at the Presbyterian Church in Toms River, New Jersey and then went to have their wedding reception at the Old Time Tavern, down the street. Those two twenty something year olds would go through life together handling what ever life threw at them. They are two of the strongest people I know and I love them very much. I am so proud to call these two twentysomething year olds in the photos below, my parents.

Happy 41st Wedding Anniversary Mom & Dad!

The first date:

They were set up on a blind date!

A week before they actually met, they unknowingly met at retirement party. My dad was a second year firefighter with Elizabeth Fire Department. George Morris, was my mom's father and also a firefighter on the Elizabeth Fire Department. It was George Morris' retirement party that both my mom and dad attended but did not know each other nor did they know each other would be their blind date the following week.

See the ticket from the Testimonial Dinner they went to below!

Before we get to their wedding photos, here are some adorable Polaroids from early on in their relationship:

I am so surprised that the Polaroids did not fade or discolor after all these years.

Here are some unseen photos from that day 41 years ago.

They went to the Bahamas for the Honeymoon. Some fun snapshots of them below too!

and if you are wondering, they are just as adorable and in love as they were 41 years ago.
