I read one book.
You read that right, I read ONE book in the whole month of November. I struggled through parts of this book too. 😲
Welp. I have hit a proverbial wall and I cannot find anything to read that truly interests me. I have gone through a handful of books(The couple next door, The Flight Attendant, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Romancing the Undercover Millionaire,Finding Freedom and Spinster) that looked good, I started to read them and then I would lose interest in it within 20 pages. Its disappointing to me because I used to read all the time and I started to read again in the summer and it made me so happy. I used to read anything and everything and now I am just so picky.
On to the ONE book I read:
Into the Fire: A Firsthand Account of the Most Extraordinary Battle in the Afghan War by Dakota Meyer
You know I love a good military book and this was pretty awesome. I only read the synopsis of this book and it just sounded good. What I wasn't expecting from this book was to know Dakota Meyer from the news when her received the Medal of Honor. His one request before the ceremony was to have a beer with then President Obama, which was granted. This true story was told in such a way that it felt like you were almost there, right along side of Sergeant Meyer. The book read like a Marine wrote it; it was rough and right to the point, not much fluff in it and that is exactly how I like military books to be written. I don't want a cleaned up version of the story, I want the nitty gritty version. I want to feel like I was there. Meyer accomplished that. The story he tells is quite fascinating and it kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the book.

There we go, my last book review for the year. I am going to give myself grace and take a break from reading until the new year. Maybe then I will have some more oomph.
If you have any book recommendations for a reluctant reader, please pass them on.

That sounds like a fascinating read! I find I go through spurts when books just don't interest me and hold my attention and others where I just seem to like everything I read.
