BIRTHDAY 5K.
For January's 5K, there weren't a lot of choices of in person races. I started to look at virtual races. I wanted to stay with monthly themes and with my birthday being in January, the Birthday 5K was the perfect fit. Virtural Run Events had the birthday theme and it was SO cute! I paid my entrance fee and they sent me my bib, and finishers medal.

I had all the intentions to do this on my actual birthday, January 15th but the penguins, arcade games and pizza took precedence that day. On January 16th, I headed to Retro Fitness to complete this 5K. I wore my birthday themed socks (not pictured) and after a quick warm up. I set off to finish this. This was my first time running since the Jingle Bells 5K in December.
I didn't have a goal for this; I wanted to get a base line for my next 5K's.

It was HOT in the gym and I was very sweaty as I was running this. I realized that I need to work on my endurance through this year. I walked a few times and ran a good chunk of it. I was happy to see what I had accomplished. After 37 minutes, I was done.
