If you thought that I was planning another vacation because I brought back my WGJ Travel series, you are correct.
Kyle and I are catching a flight to Florida to spend a few days in Panama City Beach, Florida at the end of the month. More specifically, the 30A area which has been on my travel bucket list for the longest time. Kyle suggested this a while ago and this will be an early birthday gift for me. YAY!
I have been wanting to go to 30A since 2018. Some of the bloggers I follow, vacation frequently in 30A because they are from the South and its a quick getaway for them. I love the idea of seaside communities and being in Florida on the Gulf is something I haven't experienced yet.
Funny story: I remember an old boyfriend and I were thinking about going on vacation. My first suggestion was 30A. He looked at me and said he would look into it. A few days later, we started talking about vacations again and he said "Gab, you can't go to 30A, its a highway." I was crushed that he didn't understand what it really was and he never mentioned it again.
SO when Kyle said, "lets go to 30A!" I was beyond ecstatic and ready to leave the next day.
SO 30A and Panama City Beach.... I am beyond EXCITED. Unlike our North Carolina Adventure, we are treating this as a recharge and relaxing vacation. I always knew going to 30A, it would be a relaxing vacation and I think having this vacation at the beginning of the holiday season will be the perfect because December is starting to fill up quick.
We booked an AirBnb that is waterfront and I did some research for some restaurants/bars near where we are staying. There are a bunch of things within walking distance for us and my plan is to take things slow, and relax. We made sure our Airbnb had a kitchenette, just in case we wanted to cook our own food.
For me, even more exciting that going to 30A is that our flight isn't a direct flight so we have a stop over in Atlanta and while it's a dash to our connecting flight, this is the first time I am taking a connecting flight. Silly as it sounds, this is something new and exciting for me. Coming back, we will be able to relax a bit more in Atlanta before our connecting flight back to Jersey. I took a look at the food options and I am sure I will be able to find something that will hold me over.
I am here for all the recommendations you have for things in and around Panama City Beach to do and places to eat/drink. Leave them below in the comments!
Here's to another adventure with Kyle and Penelope!
