Show & Tell: Backgrounds

Backgrounds.

I know random topic BUT I was thinking about it the other day and I took a look at the backgrounds on my work computer, laptop, phone and iPad and I started to think about how they can be inspiring, they can make you smile, and remember a memory OR they can just be there and you not think anything about them.

I, for one, love my backgrounds to mean something. I love seeing something that makes me happy, like on my phone. At work, I prefer to have something inspiring on my desktop and my laptop, I want to see something beautiful.

I am sharing my backgrounds today with you all, just in case you were curious and a nosey nellie like I am.

Let's first start with my phone backgrounds.

My lock screen changes monthly. You know I love a good theme and  I try to keep that up.  Specifically for Valentine's Day, I had this picture I took in the Dollar Tree last year.

My Home Screen does not change. I have been using the same picture since 2016ish. I LOVE this verse and it truly has gotten me through so many hard times. I have a widget on my Home Screen that cycles through photos in my camera roll.  I am SO glad that I found this widget because it will change throughout the day and it really does make me happy.

Moving on to my Work computer Desktop photo.

I found this quote on Instagram from @Moonomens and instantly fell in love with it. I paired the lavender background with a bright aqua background and hot pick accents.  Even at work, I keep it bright and cheerful. I can't remember when I put this on my desktop but it feels like I've had it forever.

My iPad background.

I've had my iPad since 2016 and I don't use it as often as I used to but when I do open it up, I always find a big smile on my face because of this glittery purple-ly background. Both the lock screen and home screen are the same image.

Lastly, my desktop background. This year, I decided to create a monthly background to inspire me and to relate to the current month. I went through all the landscape photos I have on my camera roll and made an album titled " Laptop Backgrounds" I can pull from. The hardest part is choosing each month what photo I want to use.

Currently my March background is:

This is a photo I took back in November 2021. I was driving to work and I had this feeling I just HAD to pull over to see this sunrise. I parked and opened my car door and stood and just clicking. This was one of the magical photos I took that morning- Sunrise of the Toms River. I added "March" in Canva and it is perfect for this month.

January's background was taken in Panama City Beach Florida back in November 2022. That was such a perfect Florida Sunset.

and clearly, I was thinking we were going to have a White February based on this photo. This was shot in my backyard last January during the only snowstorm we had.

Thanks for letting me share my backgrounds and the reasons why I chose them.

What backgrounds do you use on your devices? Do you just keep the one that came with the device or do you personalize it? Let me know in the comments below!

Show and Tell Tuesday

Hiiiiii everyone! I am just popping back in to link up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday. Today's show and tell is "What's in your Bag?" I did a "Whats in my bag" in the fall and I am excited to show you all whats in my bag, because some days, I don't even know whats in there. HA!!

Show and Tell: Whats in your Bag

Let's start with my bag:
Michael Kors'. I got it for Christmas and its a definite favorite.
I don't think my exact color is still available but here is a brand new color here.

Lets peek inside
Yes, there is a lot going on in there yet, it is surprisingly organized. A lot of Vera Bradley, a lot of color.

My work ID and keys
I use these everyday and somehow I always seem to loose them in my purse
Glasses and Sunnies
Totally need these when the pollen is really bad

 My carryall
This holds some of my favorite make up products and some random items.

Speaking of my carry all
My aunt made this and its sometimes like Mary Poppins bag!

My bag of prayers.
Its nice to always know that these items are close by. The rosary beads are from my grandmother and I cherish them a lot.

Well those are the fun parts of my bag.  There is always the random bobby pins, change, my library card and post it notes that I always lose.

I can't wait to see what else is in everyone else's bag!

Thanks Andrea for hosting this show and tell!

PS. I am really missing writing so I am working on starting to post a little more regularly! I will update you all super soon!!

Show and Tell

Hi everyone! I am linking up with Andrea over at Momfessionals for Show and Tell Tuesday...

I think this is great way to re-introduce myself to all my new blogging friends--- Here I go!

I'm Gabrielle, almost 28 living in New Jersey and absolutely loving life. The past two years have been bonkers and I am happy to be in a better place this year. I am excited to start the year off with a bang and I am curious to see what this year holds for me.

Here's what I'm currently LOVING right now:

My Parents/// I love my family more than anything. We always have such a great time together and we are always laughing. They are always there for me and I appreciate that so so much. From our nightly family dinners to having game nights, whatever we do is we do it together.

Penelope/// I have an overactive imagination and I tend to bring my stuffed flamingo, Penelope, along with me when  I go on fun adventures. She loves car rides and new places. She is very excited to see what adventures she will go on this year.

Eric/// He makes me laugh every day and our inside jokes are the best. He has been such a big part in my life lately, whether its our daily phone calls and all of our text messages to the adventures and good luck we find- he definitely makes life fun.

Yoga/// This has been an unexpected joy in my life lately. It has given me strength, confidence and flexibility that I was missing. I write about it here.

Friends, landscapes, quotes and selfies/// This is what you would see if you looked at my camera roll. I live life (as Eric would say) with a sense of whimsy and wonder.

I love taking photos, going on adventures, organizing, bright colors, adulting, cooking and reading. I have also in the past year falling in love with blogging. Everyday Jersey Girl has been my baby and I have really taken it more seriously the last few months. Blogging has let me experience such an awesome community of strong, uplifting women. I have also even agreed to be a contributor for another blog totally different topic- Sneakers at SnkrPost. Blogging has opened up a whole new world for me and I am very thankful for that!

On to my goals for 2016---

I wrote about my goals in depth here and here but I would also like to add to that list one of my goals (that I've kept a secret for the past few years!!!) is to write a book. Probably since 2012, I've had this (crazy) idea to write a book. I think this year will finally be the year to set this plan into action. I'm really excited about this and a little scared too! I've read somewhere if your dreams scare you, then you are doing it right!

I am very excited for 2016--- sunshine, adventures and wonderful memories ahead!

I hope you all stick around my little piece of Internet, I have exciting things coming up!
