| Flowers make Mondays even better |
Woof! This was a loooonnnggggggggggg week! January made sure we felt every single day of this month.
Work has been busy and productive. I love the end of the month to tidy things up and to start the next month fresh. It's also been nice to reconnect with clients that I spoke with prior to the holidays and now they are starting their processes. I love when clients are equally excited as I am to start their process.
The other day, Wawa put a free shortie hoagie reward in my account for no real apparent reason. I decided at complete random to use that reward on Wednesday for lunch. I was super excited to have one of these hoagies, I don't eat them often so its a real treat. Mid-morning I checked my email and I saw that McDonald's put a bonus reward in my account for a free medium French fry with no purchase necessary. I couldn't believe my eyes, I get a free hoagie AND free french fries?! Heck YES! I scooted over to McDonalds on my lunch to happily pick up my reward. I went back to work with my tiny McDonalds bag and sat in the lunchroom, doing a happy dance as I ate my free lunch. Who knew food could make me sooo happy?!
I decided I want to do something that is beneficial to others. After thinking about it for a few days I decided I will sign up to volunteer at the library. I have LOVED the library my whole life; I have been a library card holder since I was 3; I did the teen volunteer program and I worked there for a few summers; I will go to the library on my lunch to read or explore; I visit libraries when I am in big cities.... so being in the library is second nature for me. I was excited to see they had a good amount of volunteer choices to choose from. I decided on two at my home library. I am eager and excited to start my volunteer journey there.

This and That
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt/// I finished this book earlies this week and when I say, I think about it daily, it is no exaggeration. You need to go read this book. I will be talking about it, in my book reviews in a few weeks; I had to mention it. IF you have the chance to listen to this book, you need to- it makes it 10000% times better.

Tony Luke's Legal Troubles /// This story caught my attention because my freshman year in college in the suburbs of Philadelphia, my marketing class had a semester long project and it culminated with a presentation the last week of the semester. My group's idea was to put a Tony Luke's on campus and to sweeten the presentation even more, we went to South Philly BEFORE our 8 AM class to pick up cheesesteaks for the class. Needless to say, we all got A's and a great breakfast.
Despicable Me 4/// I am SO excited that Despicable Me is coming to theaters again! I am a huge fan of this franchise- I wasn't a huge fan of the third installment with his brother and the 80s theme. It was okay. I am very excited to see Gru's baby and what antic the girls and the minions get into!
An Eye Towards Joy///A high schooler found his stride as a photographer and has made a name for himself. This is a really sweet story out of Texas.
Field and Stream Purchase/// Leave it to these two- Morgan Wallen and Eric Church to purchase something they both love- outdoors and hunting. I can't wait to see what they do with this over 100 year old company that was basically extinct.
Grilled Tequila Lime Chicken Taco Salad/// I found this recipe by accident today and while its a mouthful to say, it looks delicious! Adding this to my recipe book asap!

What pretty flowers, they are a great way to brighten up your week.
ReplyDeleteThat is great that you are going to volunteer at your library. It sounds like you are going to love it.
Love those flowers! I would like to get back into a job where I work with clients - I am currently in operations and although our employees ARE my clients, I rather prefer providing a product or service I think. I 1000% (yes, I used 3 zeros!) agree on Remarkably Bright Creatures. I spent way too much time reading your links - there were some good ones there :) Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful flowers. Congrats on your free lunch! I have often thought of volunteering at our local library too.
