Friday Favorites

I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika, as always! I am so excited to read your posts this week!

Hi Friends! Did you feel like a duck this week? (When one feels like a duck, splashing around in all this wet. And when one feels like a duck, one is HAPPY! John Mulaney for the win?!) This week, has been WET! Here in New Jersey, we got the remnants of Hurricane Ian. Knock on wood that my area just got lots and lots of rain.

I am still praying big prayers for all those affected down in Florida. The images that have been coming out of Florida is unbelievable. Water is so powerful and the sight of boats and cars just tossed around like pillows is crazy.

With all the rainy days, it has been pretty chilly lately. Everyone has been saying we went from Summer to Winter in 12 hours. It was a nice change and I LOVE dressing for Fall/Winter but I was hoping to ease into it not been tossed in to it. I broke out some of my favorite Fall items this week that included some new leopard loafers!

I was so excited that yesterday we actually saw the sun and it ended up being a beautiful day. I sat outside on my lunch to work on this post and it made me so happy!

The first week of October for me is always exciting because it is not only Dad's birthday but its also my Work anniversary. I celebrated 11 years at my job! I cannot fathom how it's been so long already. I still remember being a 23 year old newbie in the office, it feels like yesterday. Now I'm one of the older ladies.

I made it to yoga this week and it was so good. I got there about an hourish early and tackled some boulders. It felt good to get back on the walls. The team kids were practicing that night too and I'm consistently amazed how they just zoom up the walls without fear. Where can I get that confidence?!

I have been trying my hardest to stay on top of my posts for this month. That means squeezing in time here and there to get things done. I'm really proud, I've been pretty consistent this whole year and Wednesdays post was #150 for the year. I'm really excited for all my upcoming posts and I hope this momentum stays around.

I've been doing Duolingo for 323 days and it might be an unpopular opinion but im kinda over it. HA I feel like I want to get to 365 days but that also seems like a lot of work. Not sure where my oomph for Duolingo dropped off but its a lot of pressure. I had the same feeling with Wordle and when I finally break my streak, I feel better and approach it in a more relaxed manner. I have 42 days left and I think I can muster my way through it. Fingers crossed.

I am pretty excited for the long weekend ahead because it looks ABSOLUTELY Beautiful. There are some random events happening around me and while I have no set plans, I am happy to see where the weekend goes.

I found these fun articles this week:

Articles:

Two Jersey Legends// Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi were at Jersey Freeze the other day in Freehold. Just super casual, they just wanted ice cream and went there. Ha! Only in Jersey!

New M&M character// This made me so happy! I don't know if it's because I'm on a purple kick or what but seeing a new M&M character that is purple made me smile!

Real Life Legally Blonde Lawyer// I love this so much. Why should it matter if an attorney wears naturals or brights? If it makes you happy and doesn't interfere with your job, I say "you do you!" I happen to know an attorney in real life who takes on the attitude of dressing well and in bright colors. It always makes me smile when I see her in court, in pretty bright colored dresses!

Swoon worthy Jacket// if you read my post on Wednesday,  this Jacket was one of the screenshots and I've been swooning over it since I saw it. I'm still trying to justify buying it but I hope I find a reason soon! I don't know if I can resist it any longer!

Do you have any plans for the long weekend?

  1. OH yes, we had a wet and COLD beginning to our week here in CT too. We also lost power for a few hours which is never fun (especially when it's cold!). Thankfully the sun returned yesterday and it warmed back up a bit. I was prompted to go through my closet and pack away all my summer clothes and pull out more of my fall/winter gear and that felt great to check that off my list.
