Happy friYAY! We made it.
As I start to write this, I've decided to take a cue from Carly Riordan, She will do a post titled "10 things" they are the first 10 things that come to her mind. Since my thoughts have been so scattered this week, this is the perfect opportunity to try it.
1.
Whew! What a week!
Kept looking at the calendar and getting confused what day it really was. I don't know if having Fridays off are throwing me or the fact its the end of June (What?!) but I seriously did not know what day it was. I guess in a happy way that could be a fun surprise each day.

Just because I know you are dying to know if we made it to Atlantic City last week...
Kyle's flight from the British Virgin Islands/Puerto Rico got delayed twice and we were not going to make it down to Atlantic City for the show due to his flight arriving late and just the normal traffic there is getting out of Newark and then South the parkway in June, on a Friday to Atlantic City. (if you aren't from New Jersey, let me tell you getting out of Newark and going South on the parkway are messes on their own, together its can become a cluster) We were both bummed BUT I arrive to his house with pizza's in hand and beer. I think those two things make everything better. (Though going forward, I would totally take a Truly Tea instead).
Saturday morning we made our way to Hartshorn Park for a nice 5K walk with weighted vests. Boy! By the end of that walk, I was definitely feeling it....everywhere. I liked the challenge of having that extra weight on me. It definitely made a simple walk, a bit more extra. It was a beautiful day to be outside, the sun was shining and the temps were perfect. We stopped at the Chubby Pickle for lunch which made me so excited. (The Chubby Pickle will be featured on Guy Fieri's Diner Drive In's and Dives in the very near future!)

Last Friday, I went climbing for the first time in a month and boy it did kick my butt! I love climbing when the gym first opens because its always empty. For most of the hour, I was all alone, then a very tall man came and made each route look super easy just because of his height. I was super envious of that. I was shocked how I remembered how to climb; it came back so easily and I was surprising myself with what I was doing, flagging my leg and not freaking out. I am proud to say I only fell once.

Mom and I celebrated Dad on Sunday with burgers and a cake. He enjoyed his relaxing day and we loved chatting about all the great memories of us through the years. The gang got him a card and as usual, he didn't want anything for Father's Day but mom and I got him a new desk chair and a book he has been talking about for a while.

On Monday I went to an Adult program at the Library- Crafter Dark. It was an adult only craft program in the Spark's Lab. The Spark's Lab is the libraries Makers space. I had no idea we had one and I am so happy we do- this space is AWESOME! There was 7 of us and we made a cute little perler bead craft. I haven't done that since I was a kid. The hour flew by and I left thinking to myself, I can't wait to come back. The library has open hours in this Makers Space that you can go in and just create and use anything that they have in their or bring your own craft. I felt like a kid in a candy store and I can't remember the last time I felt so excited to do a craft. I went to bed that night with so many crafty things swirling around in my head. Great job Ocean County for having this space and encouraging the community to use it.

I have been grabbing some last minute things, making my lists and checking them twice for vacation. I picked out all the clothes and accessories I want to bring and did a "trial pack" and I feel like it went pretty well. I am proud that I haven't overpacked liked usual. Check back later today, in wondergracejoy Travels, I will be sharing what I am packing for this trip.

I really hunkered down and looked into booking our adventures and making reservations. This part was a little nervewracking but I am pretty excited with what I found and I am pretty sure this will be an adventurous vacation. There were so many neat things to see and do and not enough time in the day for everything. I guess if we really like it, we will just have to go back.

The best news for this week is the countdown. we are finally in SINGLE DIGITS until vacation!!! Everyone remain calm! [[[Imagine the Michael Scott gif during the fire drill]]

I have been looking into getting Google Fi. The no contract thing and the no hidden fees is very attractive. My parents are still on Verizon because of me and after the ridiculous conversation my mom had with them earlier this week, I think its time for baby bear to get her own cell phone plan. Baby Bear is also thinking more realistically about what phone she wants and if its justifiable enough to spend the extra money for a specific color ( I am looking at you sorta sunny). Spoiler Alert: its not.

This weeks weather was like early spring. It was colder in the mornings, beautiful in the mid-day and then colder again in the evenings. I am pretty sure Summer arrived on Tuesday but perhaps Mother Nature did not get the memo yet but I am not complaining at all.
9.
Looking forward to spending some more time outside this weekend, climbing with Kyle, finishing up packing and getting everything together for vacation and my Couch to 5K club starts Monday! I am going to be truly busy these upcoming months and I cannot wait.
10.
Since I have been spending time outside a lot on walks, I have always noticed bunnies on my route. Most days its this one bunny in the same spot but the other day I saw THREE bunnies together hopping around, perhaps they were siblings and then I saw another one tonight on my walk. Something was telling me to look the meaning of bunnies crossing your path. Well, the internet did not disappoint with the meaning; supposedly they symbolize luck in all aspects of your life. Universe I hope this isn't a cruel joke.

Lately I feel like I have been riding the struggle bus. My mind has been so scattered and I can barely focus on a task at hand. I figured out kinda why this week. My blood test results came back to check the levels of Humira in my body right before my next dose. Well the first test back in April was borderline low and then this test came back and it was even lower. ::Sad face:: I was so bummed about this . I have a list of questions to ask my doctor to figure out what is the next step.
I have always been super honest about my Crohn's journey and I felt like this is something to share, even if its not a win.

Well! There you have it, the ten-ish random things on my mind. I told you my thoughts have been scattered this week.

That craft time sounds so fun! That’s so great that they have like “open studio” time where you can do what you want but use all their stuff! I always loved doing that at the beading place near me because who has that crimper tool or the special trays?? And I’m on the East Coast too and there have been SO.MANY. bunnies this year!
ReplyDeleteYay for East Coast and crafts! I'm so glad its not only me seeing so many bunnies!
