Let me preface this post by saying, I am not a HUGE fan of baseball. I do not have a favorite team, only favorite colors and I will cheer for the teams who have those colors.
This summer we got to experience 3 New York Mets baseball games together with the 7Line Army.
We went to three different stadiums together- Citizens Bank Park, Fenway Park & Citi Field all rooting on the Mets and I am pretty sure the Mets only won one of those games we lost (BUT as true Mets fans would know, this is the norm for them!)
Lets dive into the highlights of each game:
Game 1 of 3
June 24, 2023
NY Mets @ Philadelphia Phillies
METS won 4-2
LOVE Citizens Bank Park. We were in the Lot K parking lot which has those solar panels over the parking spots which came in so handy because there was a stray storm that rolled through while we were tailgating. It was hot and humid out and I refused to wear the 7Line t-shirt.
I loved how we were close-ish to the porta potties (#iykyk) and we were surrounded by Phillies fans. While I was in line for the porta potties, I made a joke with the Phillies fans, something along the lines of "Yikes, I guess I am in enemy territory huh?! LOL"
I asked the girl I chatted with in line for the porta potties, to take a group photo. Our group was entertained by a group of Phillies fans across the way who were blasting music out of DJ speakers and their iPhones that I listened to in college in 2007. Thanks for the memories boys!
We made our way into the stadium, found our seats and the game started pretty quickly. It was really neat to see all the Mets fans in attendance in our "It's Always Amazin' on Broad Street" shirts. Our seats were in the shade (THANK GOODNESS because the sun came out after the popup storm and it was HOT!) Spiked Arnold Palmers, Philly Pretzels and Soft Serve Ice Cream in a mini baseball helmet helped with the heat. LOVED seeing the Philly Phanatic dance too!

Game 2 of 3
July 22, 2023
NY Mets @ Boston Red Socks
METS lost 6-8
I was really excited for this trip to Boston. I've heard such good things about Boston and I couldn't wait to see the historic Fenway Park.
We had spent the morning exploring Boston then we walked (!!!) with all the other Mets fans to Fenway Park. Our first stop was Lucky Strike for a pre-game party. It was jammed beyond capacity. We left there and made our way to Jersey Street for the pre-game festival. I was so excited to be at Fenway! We made our way inside and quickly realized how unusual the set up of the stadium was.

Because of the Green Monster, you couldn't do a full lap around the stadium. We got as close as we could to see the Green Monster, found an old Bullpin cart shaped like a baseball and of course made our way to the Fan Services booth to pick up our "My 1st Game" pins. I was SO excited to wear mine. I conceded and wore the matching shirt for this game. These shirts were ridiculous- The 7Line Army are Coming! with a goofy horse and a patriot on the back of it- I totally get a theme but it was weird. I also added a custom made bow because I knew it was going to be another hot one.

Penelope joined us for this game. She was slightly confused and she kept stealing peoples popcorn and drinks. (typical flamingo)

Penelope was here for the snacks
|
We found our seats, which happened to be in the sun this time EEK! The trade off, it was a night game and the sun should be setting soon AND we were right next to the Mets Bullpen. Like the people sitting next to the bullpen could have touched the players, THATS how close we were.

| So close to the action! |

| I think the announcer said at one point, he has NEVER seen so many METS fans here! |
Darron came down by us to take a video of our group and I ended up in it! HA

| Yay me! |
The game was fun and exciting! Hanging out at Fenway Park with 1,500 Mets fans is pretty cool. By the time the game was over, it was late and we had to walk back to the hotel and boy my feet were hurting. Overall a great trip and Boston, you were amazing!
OH! Bonus, since we bought our tickets with 7Line, we had a $50 concession credit on them. I was undecided until almost the end of the game, what to do with the $50. I had a brilliant idea to go see if I could get a neat souvenir. After looking at the different shops, I ended up getting a limited edition (kids) Vineyard Vines T-shirt with the Green Monster in the Whale on the back. I was so excited with my purchase.
Game 3 of 3
July 29, 2023
Washington Nationals @ NY Mets
METS lost 11-6
The last game in our Summer Stadium tour. A week after our Boston Adventure, this was our final stop.
This was a LONG day. We caught the train to NYC in the early afternoon for the 7:05 game. Thank goodness for a quickcheck stop before the train for coffee and snacks. Penelope was with us and she was totally unsure about this train and subway and city business. She's a domesticated Flamingo. We finally made it to Citi Field around 4:15.

A short walk to the Marina lot where the 7Line was pre-gaming. It was another hot summer Saturday and 7Line was sponsored by Corona. My gosh, those tasted SO good in the heat!

Around 6pm we headed over to Citi Field to get in before the game. Our group need to go to Fan Services to pick up two jerseys. On our way to get the Jerseys, my eagle eyes spotted Mr. and Mrs. Met taking photos with the fans. I said to our group, I WANNA! They laughed but I kept it in the back of my mind.

As we decided to divide and conquer to get food and drinks, the sun was starting to set BUT the sky was looking nasty! We ended up getting Shake Shack for dinner and after eating we found a spot to hunker down for the imminent rain.

After about an hour, we made our way to our seats- I grabbed a stack of napkins to wipe down the seats so we could actually sit. The game started an hourish late and I was overcome with tiredness. We had been on the go most of the day and I decided I needed coffee.
After googling where the nearest coffee place was in Citi Field, I left the group to go on the hunt for caffeine. I might have gone on a few side adventures- stopping for blue cotton candy AND seeing there was no wait to see Mr. and Mrs. Met, I jumped on the opportunity to meet them, like an awkwardly weird adult.

My Night was made Also I am a jersey girl not a jersey girl. Also repeat OOTD |
 |
| Home run = the Big apple popping up |
 |
| YAY! |
I finally found coffee and the kid behind the counter was very confused when I asked for coffee. I took his confusion to mean ' this coffee is hours old and will taste terrible.' I was desperate at this point and I needed something to stay awake because I not only is the game not even half way done at this point BUT I also have a 4 hour ride back to Jersey.
Coffee and cotton candy in hand, I headed back to the seats to watch the LONGEST baseball game in (my) history. Did I mention it was cold too?!
The Mets ended up losing and then we had to travel through the candy cane forest again and ride the train back home. We didn't get home until some god forskaen hour. I don't know how we were functioning at that point.
And folks, if you have made it this far, THANK YOU! I am glad to stuck around. This is the end of our Summer Stadium tour; I hope I never do this again (I will be happy with one game, thank you very much!)
