February's Playlist
February was a fun month for music for me. I listened to a wide variety of music this month. I was feeling inspired to let my music tastes wander. I wanted things that will uplift and create a feeling as good as I was physically feeling. I was excited to put this playlist together. When looking at last month's playlist, I saw I had two followers, following my playlist! Hi Friends!
I pulled songs that made me smile all month; Enjoy this month's playlist!

A Day in the Life: Work Edition 2/24
I love reading about other peoples days, what they do, how they spend their time and what their routines are. I thought it would be fun to share my day. This is a typical work day for me.
Wake up: 515 am
Screenshot alarm screen
Bathroom: getting ready 5:30-600 am
Photo of bathroom sink, getting ready.
Quiet time: 600 to 6:30 am
I journal, look at my schedule and typically read.
A photo of planner and book in bed
Breakfast 630-700 am
I love this time, I spend with my momma. We eat together and chat about different things. Today we were chatting about:_____
I get together my lunch and snacks.
Quiet time: 700-715 am
I brush my teeth, gather my clothes and see if I need to change my purse and get my shoes together.
Get dressed: 720am
Gather my things together to leave 730am
Drive to work: 730-800am
It takes about 20 minutes on average but traffic gets in the way. Ha
Park and walk into work 800-813 am
I normally park in the same spot/area and I try to leave my car at 8:03am. I dont know why it's always at this number but I do. Ha. One of the unique parts is going through security. Perks of working in a courthouse.
Arrive at my office 8:12ish
Check my plants, start my computer and open my office window. I get settled and open my planner to see what needs to be accomplished today.
Clock into work 823 am
After clocking in,I make my rounds saying hello to everyone and to see if I have any files waiting for me.
Work: 823-12:30pm
I work on various tasks that need my attention. On this specific day I was working on__________.
Morning snack: 10 am
I love my snacks more than anything else. Ha. I usually eat yogurt now (shutout to good karma for making such a good tasting yogurt.)
Lunch: 1230pm
I try to stick to a pretty ____ lunch time. Yesterday I had lunch with friends so it was modified a bit. I usually read, journal and when the weather is warmer out. I like to walk. Today I _______.
Work: 1:30-5
Depending on the day, I contunute to work on different tasks. Today I had an adoption so I went to court and then worked on closing the file. ______
Driving to the gym: 5:00- 520 pm
After work, most days I head to the gym which is on my way home.
Gym: 530-645
I run 2 miles then do some weights.
I am a sweaty mess always
Drive home : 645-700 pm
Dinner: 700-720ish
Mama always has something waiting for me.
Shower and wind down: 730-845
Shower, get ready to go to bed. I usually read, work on the blog and do some final journaling before bed. I tend not to watch tv before bed.
Bed time: 900ish pm
I need a lot of sleep ha!
Thanks for following along, my days are pretty much alike. I've decided to create my days like this to maximize the joy that I want to create in my life.
Does your day look similar to mine? What differs?

This and That
Happy Monday!
I had another blog post planned for today but when I sat down to write it, nothing came out. It was like my brain wiped it self clear and I couldn't think of a single world. #writersblock
I decided just to write about This and That today, enjoy!
My weekend was pretty wonderful. I did the normal things around the house that I normally do on the weekend-laundry, straightening up and getting ready for the upcoming week.
I also was able to read a lot this weekend. I am really into "A Simple Favor" by Darcey Bell. A coworker recommended it to me and I can see why she was singing its praises. I hope to finish it this week.
Another fun thing I did this weekend- made these adorable stuffed shamrocks.
Last earlier this month, I finished stuffed hearts as a Vase filler for work. I figured shamrocks would be fun and easy and boy were they! Super easy and relaxing. I was able to complete a lot (16!!) of these during the weekend. I think the hardest part was cutting the felt out.
I liked these so much that I decided to list them on my Etsy account. If you are interested, check them out here.
Dad needed some help outside and I was happy to help him. It brought back a lot of memories from when I was younger and always wanted to help Dad outside. I need to do that more often, it brought me joy.
Mom and I had our morning chats and it warms my heart. As I have gotten older, I feel like I've become closer to her and I value her opinion more and more. Its nice to have someone who is always looking out for my best interest.
I listened to a lot of music this weekend and I allowed my grace for when things didn't go as planned. I feel that my mindset has changed for the better and I am more accepting of myself and things around me. It feels refreshing that this new mindset has come now- I feel as if I am ready to accept it and apply it in my life.
Things seem to be falling into place and it makes me happy. I know when you get to a point in your life and things feels right, its because you have gone through the mess to get to the good part. I hope I am close to the good part.
OH! How can I forget to add this! I was gifted new plant this weekend! This is a friendship plant- the previous owner received a piece of this plant and then once it started to grow, she took a piece off the original plant, stuck the piece in water and then planted it when it started to grow roots. In honor of my friend who gifted this to me, I named her Lulu. Isn't she cute? I know she will fit right in with everyone else.
Be sure to check back on Wednesday for my February Playlist. I am so excited to share it.

Observations and Thoughts
I'm a pretty observant person. I love seeing things that most other people realize or take the time to truly look at. I love seeing funny things throughout my day and my travels.
Here are a few things I have observed in the past few weeks:
1/29/20 (large) chickens roaming free in a neighbors yard
1/29/20 the moon was the perfect crescent moon. I fully expected to see the man in the moon laying on it.
1/30/20 I tried to snooze my alarm by pressing my elbow into my pillow. When it didn't work the first time, I pressed harder until I realized until I realized that I needed to actually press the phone with my finger, not squeeze my pillow.
1/30/20 I saw a woman holding a striped lunch box skipping out of work
Overheard in the hallway- Hey! Don't put your finger in there! Don't...your finger does not belong in your nose!
2/14/20 driving home from work, a man in a large pickup truck had a lot of red balloons stuffed into the backseat of his cab
2/15/20 good samartians were helping an older lady I assumed had fallen. They stayed with her until the paramedics came.
2/15/20 (I think) I opened up my jewelry drawer and I smelled a scent that I knew but couldn't place immediately. I closed the drawer and I started to walk away but a smile appeared and I remembered what that scent was, it was grandma. I felt like she was telling me she was there at that very moment. I had put one her pieces of jewerely on.
2/21/20 Orion's belt, the north star and other constellations very clearily
Thoughts I had sitting in Starbucks in a Barnes and Noble:
How do people arrive at their (complicated) order?
Do they really enjoy the Venti Mocha Latte with 2 pumps of caramel and skim milk with a splash of honey?
Do people who study here like to work around chaos?
Do people who come to Starbucks alone (me included) want to be around people but not with people?
Do they like the anominity of being in a crowd and not knowing anyone?
Why do people still come to Barnes and Noble and purchase books if they are cheaper elsewhere? It is for the experience of perusing the rows and rows of books? If that is it, why not support your local library?
Where did the Cornell sweatshirt guy and the blonde go so quickly that they are walking back to their car already without any bags?

Fabulous Friday Favorites
Happy Friday friends!
This week felt like a whirlwind! Having off on Monday for President's day really confused me; All week I kept having to refer to a calendar to tell me what day it was.
I had a few fun things happen this week:
+went back to the gym after a two week break and was able to run 2 miles without much trouble
+had lunch with 2 dear friends yesterday
+my nail polish is still looking perfect! ( this is quite the accomplishment for me. I am so hard on my nails)
+I finished two books (look for my reviews in a few weeks!)
I rounded up some of my favorites from this past week:
Neutrogena Hydra Boost Whipped Body Balm
I am not a fan of body lotion; I don't like how it just sits on top of our skin and it feels heavy. Mama found this and I reluctantly tried it and WOAH! It blew me out of the water. Its so light and it gets absorbed into your skin super quick. All you are left with is smooth hydrated skin. Run, don't walk to get this product. I am in LOVE with it.
Off Duty Cops Stop Robbery on Date Night
I heard part of this story and I thought it was neat that they were off duty and just trying to eat some fried chicken! HA! I fell even in more love with this story when I found out that these two officers were actually married! 😍 Law Enforcement Officers are awesome!
Purse found after 63 years
I find it fascinating what women carry in their purses. This custodian found a purse stuck in between the wall and the lockers after 63 years. Seeing what this woman had in her purse in high school in 1963. I feel like what was found in her purse, could be found in someone's purse today. What a neat find!
Unexpected Surprises
I took a different way to yoga last night, mostly because I was running late and I wanted to avoid traffic. I took a couple of turns and BAM! I encountered this beautiful sky. I wasn't expecting to see this at all because the rest of the sky was dark, but this little ray of sunshine (pun intended) made me smile.
Don't forget to check out: Recent Snapshots and Becoming a Plant Mom posts from earlier this week.

Horoscopes
This is something silly, but every so often in my Google news, a website for my daily horoscope pops up. I am always curious to see what they have to say, and Wednesday's horoscope did not let me down. I take these with a grain of salt but its neat to see.
Another favorite of this week was this I found on Pinterest, it seemed appropriate in my current season.

Becoming a Plant Mom
Somehow I became the plant mom at work. It all happened so fast. I don't know what happened. My coworker who retired gifted me two lovely plants that I aptly named Bunsen and Beaker (you know the comic duo from the Muppets?) The shapes totally look like them.
Meet Bunsen and Beaker.

Can you see the resemblance?
I was comfortable with these because it was being a plant mom with training wheels on; my coworker was still here and I watered them when I remembered. When my coworker retired, I realized they were my FULL time responsibility and if they die, that were on me. EEK!
So I did what any responsible plant mom would do- I added their water schedule to my planner and made sure they were okay. I talked to them and watered them regularly. I talked to them about replanting them in bigger containers because everyone needs an upgrade once in a while, even plants. They seem like the idea of replanting- they didn't die yet. HA!
I was very worried when I redesigned my office space that moving them from one side of the office to another they would die. Your know plants are #persnickety. I reassured them they were okay and they were, but still I was very worried.
For Christmas I received a beautiful succulent plant arrangement and I was excited to bring it into work for Bunsen and Beaker to meet. I aptly named the new succulents Scott's Tots because there were many different types in the container and I had a slight feeling just like the episode named Scott's Tots, this too will be a mess.
Well, I was right- I killed one of the succulents right off the bat- like it went from good to horrible overnight. I laughed because succulents are supposed to be hard to kill. There was no indication before I left work that one would die. It was totally my fault and to be honest, I scared the other plants in the container. I over watered them; I drowned them and it was a mess. I promptly removed the dead succulent, said some nice things about it and returned my attention to the other succulents that were very worried. I reassured them that that was a mistake and I love them all even the dead one.
After my slight mishap, I decided to talk to Bunsen, Beaker and Scott's Tots each day and do a daily check- in along with a weekly watering. They didn't say much but I figured that would help, you know, its proven that talking to plants nicely can help them grow, why not try?
Shortly after Christmas, it was my birthday and I was gifted another succulent. You would think in the succulent community, they would have my face on a wanted poster but no, I was the proud new mom of a larger succulent. This one resembled the one that met their quick demise with Scott's Tots. With hope in my heart for a new start and prayers, I named this plant Joy!
To be honest I was terrified I was going to kill Joy! very quickly. I did some research on this type of succulent and I noticed her leaves were dry. I didn't want to over water her but I didn't want to keep her super dry either. I decided that watering the succulents with ice cubes would be most appropriate. That way they would be watered slowly and not drowned like I previously did to the other one.
Now I figured Scott's Tots needed new scenery; I put Scott's Tots and Joy<>! on the windowsill. They were at this point a lot closer to Bunsen and Beaker now, I was hoping that they can form a friendship-all four of them.
Scott's Tots and Joy! seem to really like the window perch, I think the sun that they receive and the fresh air they get too.
Life was great with my 4 plants, they were living and thriving. Little Scott's Tots really has grown leaps and bounds. Joy! was getting healthier and Bunsen and Beaker were flourishing.
Then one day, I had a knock at my door and there was a question " Are you interested in adopting some orchids?" I immediately said "YES!" without realizing how many I was actually receiving. FIVE! Five Beautiful and well seasoned Orchids. I was instantly in over my head.
I have never owned Orchids before and the only thing that I do know about them is they are hard to keep alive. AH! After I found places for "the Quints" as I named them for now, I sat down and thought to myself, "what did I do?!"
I've always admired their beauty and the fragile petals but always from afar. The only thing I really knew is that I had to water them with ice cubes once a week.
I googled and googled and googled. I learned that those wispy roots that I was about to cut were actually called Air Roots and if they were transparent, that means the plant is thriving.
Read twice then cut. HA. I did realize that I need to replant these beauties into bigger pots; they simply outgrew the current home they are all in.
After cleaning the freezer out of ice cubes (don't worry I refilled all the ice cube trays), everyone got fed- The Quints, Joy! and Scott's Tots all got ice cubes and Bunsen and Beaker got lots of water.
While I am still trying to figure out the best placement for the Quints among Joy!, Scott's Tots, Bunsen and Beaker, I am truly enjoying having so much greenery around me while I work. I know some plants help clean the air and others smell beautifully, all NINE (!) of my plants bring me joy and I am very happy about that.
I even had a crazy thought that I wanted to get another one to make it an even 10! Woah! Slow down Spano and realize you got yourself a lot of plants already that you are still learning about five of them!
I cannot take all the credit because the thing was ready to pop any minute when I got them but I am pretty proud that I kept them alive over the long weekend. #smallvictories
It also makes me giggle that my word of the year is BLOOM and I just happen to be receiving all of these plants this year. Things always work out in the most unique ways.
Do you have any tips or tricks for keeping Orchids and succulents alive?! Please send them this way! While you are at it, can you tell me what is going on in these photos- Should I cut these dead looking air roots? Should I clean the planter out? Also is that leaf dying? Help!?

Fabulous Friday Favorites
Hello! Happy Valentine’s Day!!
Wishing you all love and happiness today.
I'm linking up with Andrea, Narci and Erica today for my short and sweet edition of Fabulous Friday Favorites.
1. Dog Bowties// I love sweet stories and I love them even more when they shine a good light on New Jersey. This boy makes bowties for shelter dogs so they look cuter in hopes they will get adopted quicker.
2. Fun Street Art// This artist running around New York City is so Creative! I wish I had as much creativity as Tom Bob. The elephant and the snakes are awesome but the crabs in the box are my favorite! His style of secretive art reminds me of Bansky but more public because we know who Tom Bob is.
3. Just Posted Blog// She is so creative with her outfits and ways to style different pieces together. I originally found her on Pinterest and then followed her blog. I crave to find pieces of clothing I can wear multiple ways.
Have an amazing weekend doing whatever you're heart desires. ❤

Valentine's Sweet Treats
Over the weekend, I made a Valentines Sweet Treat. This is a simple treat that everyone seems to love. Its salty and sweet AKA the perfect combination.
These don't last too long, I always suggest making extras!!
Valentine's Sweet Treats
makes approximately 150
Ingredients:
Waffle Pretzels
Hershey Hugs
Valentine M&M's
1. Line the cookie sheet with tin foil.
(This makes clear up so much easier!! I learned from experience)
2. Lay a single layer of waffle pretzels on the cookie sheet; using only whole waffle pretzels.
3.Unwrap the Hershey Hugs- this is the most tedious part.
4. Place one Hershey hug on each pretzel.
5. Heat the open to 200°
6. Once the oven is heated, I put one cookie sheet in at a time
(This way I can keep my eye it better)
7. Put the M&M's in a bowl next to the oven, you will need them after the next step.
8. They will cook for 4-6 minutes. (the time truly depends on your oven) I watch them like a hawk. When they look shiny and starting to melt, that is when you take them out.
9. Once out of the oven, you will need to place one M&M on each pretzel hug melted piece.
Push the M&M down to mush the hug down.
10. Let them cool on the stove until the cookie sheet is manageable.
11. Stick the cooled down cookie sheet in the fridge for 30 minutes.
12. Once the chocolate has hardened, take out of fridge and put into air tight container.
13. Enjoy!
Super simple but oh so yummy. I tend to make two cookie sheets of these at a time, because I have no self control.
What is your favorite Valentine's treat?
